About The Orca Fin
The primary author of this blog is a former Fortune 500 executive with three decades of experience in technology, insurance, and financial markets. His forensic mindset and rigorous research using unconventional methods enable us to provide value.
We strive to look at the evolving global and local economic, geopolitical, policy, and technology landscape to identify trends that may impact your investments. Some may have an immediate impact, and some may evolve over the longer term.
Some of our articles also identify issues with a particular stock, sector, or consensus among market participants. These articles are a broad warning to be watchful, avoid those stocks or sectors, or be wary of the market consensus. The Orca Fin was the first to expose SMCI in May 2024. Yes, much before even Hindenburg or the world figured out the issues.
Here are our internal governance rules to ensure no conflict of interest. For companies we write about:
No existing position.
If we have an existing position, we exit and wait seven days before publishing.
Wait seven days after publishing before initiating any new position.
We are not registered investment advisors. None of what we write should be construed as investment advice. Please consider us as just another input into your decision-making process.
Ad Policy
Ads are mostly hidden from paying subscribers. However, over the last few months, many promising companies have expressed their desire to be featured on this blog to raise funds via equity offerings.
After serious consideration, we felt that paying subscribers should also get to see these offers. Why take away the option from someone who might be interested? Hence, from time to time, when we deem it appropriate, such offers will show up in premium posts.
Even for free subscribers, ads are not shown between content. That policy remains unchanged. There might be a logo of the company advertising at the top of the article and the offering ad at the bottom.
Email and Billing Preferences
Please add the email address ([email protected]) to your whitelist. This will ensure your email provider doesn’t dump post notification emails into another folder.
I appreciate that some of you may not wish to receive post notification emails and just want to read the articles on the site when convenient. You can update your email preferences by logging in to the site. Click on the profile icon on the nav bar on the right. → Manage Subscriptions → Preferences. This does not impact billing or system-generated administrative emails.
It is important to note that if you hit unsubscribe, you lose access to everything immediately, irrespective of the time left on your subscription.
You can also manage your Billing information under Manage Subscriptions. Stripe handles all billing-related information. Those on complimentary plans can update their card information anytime in this section, but will only be charged after the free period. Also, if you have a new card or want to change cards, you can update the card information in this section.
Refund Policy
Only a monthly subscription is offered by The Orca Fin since April 2025. We issue no refunds. If there are concerns about your subscriptions or payments, please email us using the Email ID in your Stripe invoice/receipt.
